PackRat does tend to be a bit cheaper overall though. This can be a problem in apartment complexes or when placing your container in a parking lot with little wiggle room. PackRat doesn't have this and instead drops the container immediately behind the truck, which means you have to have a space to set the container down that accommodates the length of both the large container AND a large truck. PODS has a mechanism that detaches from their truck so they're able to set your container down just about anywhere you want it. The difference is in the way they pick up your container. The first month’s rental fees are 164.99 for the 7-foot container, 189.99 for the 12-foot container, and 199.99 for the 16-foot container. The typical costs for storage containers don’t change too much between the size of the pod. PODS’s average cost of 1,160 for a 100-mile move is approximately 860 cheaper than 1-800-PACK-RAT. I also found the workers who picked up/dropped off my containers for both services to be very efficient and skilled at maneuvering their trucks and container pickup. The PODS cost doesn’t include delivery fees and storage costs beyond the first month. Is Packrat cheaper than pods PODS has significantly cheaper rates for short moves, while 1-800-PACK-RAT is slightly less expensive for long distances. I had some minor damage and scuffs using both services, but most of this was caused by my own poor packing as other posters have said. As far as the containers, they're pretty comparable and a lot depends on how well you pack it. Between the two services, I definitely had better luck with PODS. I've actually used both PODS and PackRat. It's been a week since you posted, so I'm not sure if this is at all helpful.
